BEING TOGETHER

Conviviality : (noun)

  • The warmth of relationships between people within a group, a company (lintern@ute)

  • The ability of a society to foster tolerance and reciprocal exchanges between individuals and groups within it. (Larousse)

  • It is a neologism, created by Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin, which appears in his Physiology of Taste (1825) to designate "the pleasure of living together, of seeking the necessary balance to establish good communication, a sincerely friendly exchange around a table. Conviviality corresponds to the process by which one develops and assumes one's role as a guest, always associated with food sharing, superimposed on commensality. "(Jean-Pierre Corbeau) (Wikipedia)
